Bell work for Wednesday September 9, 2015
Journal: Line in the Sand
In To Kill a Mockingbird, Tom Robinson’s trial is a “line in the sand” for Maycomb. A “line in the sand” means that something final has been drawn, a boundary has been established, and people are dared not to cross it. What is the “line in the sand” for this town? What are the sides? Which characters are on the Finches’ side? Which characters are on the Ewells’ side?
Write your response on your bellwork paper.
