-Identify and infer the meaning of a significant text excerpt from TKAM
-Draw conclusions and make inferences about events and characters in TKAM by answering questions about chapter 11

2.  Ch. 11 Review: ABCDE Questions
3.  Begin reading Ch. 12

Homework for Tuesday September 1, 2015 
1) Read Chapter 12.
2) Answer the CP or H questions in paragraph form. Paragraphs should be at least ½ page.
CP - Describe Jem's and Scout's visit to First Purchase church (Calpurnia's church). What do people at her church think/feel about Jem and Scout? How do Jem and Scout feel about this experience?
What new things do Scout and Jem learn at this church about how the black people of Maycomb live? What new information do you learn about Calpurnia? Be specific and detailed. Use at least one  ES in your paragraph response.

H - Describe how Calpurnia received her education. Describe how her son received his education.  Make sure you explain how their educational background contributes to their literacy. How does Calpurnia and her son contrast with the other members of First Purchase Church? Explain why Calpurnia speaks differently in the Finch household than she does among her neighbors at church. In general, how is language used differently in a workplace versus a social setting and/or around family?
