Bell work for Tuesday September 8, 2015
Bellwork:  Chapter 16
In Chapter 16, the Finch family narrowly escapes harm from an angry mob that wishes to hurt Tom Robinson.  Once they safely arrive home from the night outside the courthouse, Atticus says to  Jem, “hmp…maybe we need a police force of children” (Lee 157).

1.     Please think carefully about this quote.  First, remember how the situation in front of the jail is diffused.  Then, think about what a real police force looks like.  Finally, answer this question:
o   What might be the benefits to having a “police force of children”?  Please write at least ½ a page in your notebook.
o   Write for 6 minutes
2.    For four minutes, meet with your Tom Robinson appointment and share your answers.

3.    Be prepared to share your responses with the class.
