2.   Ch. 9 Review: Complete a Close Reading of the Ch. 9 homework. 
Directions: Re-read the passage and decide what you think the overall tone of the passage seems to be.
Write:  The tone of the passage at the end of chapter 9 seems to be _____________________.
Re-read the passage again and highlight diction that seems to be important to the overall tone of the passage

Synthesis of Close Read from end of Ch. 9

2.     Answer the following prompt in a ½ page paragraph response:
Prompt: In Chapter 10, the reader learns that Atticus has a personal identity, an identity as a father, and a public identity.
·       If Atticus were to describe each identity to the reader, what would he say about each one?
·       How is each identity different from another?
·       What have Scout and Jem discovered about Atticus’ private & public identity in Ch. 10?
·       Why would his children be unaware of his public and personal identity until now?
